It is anticipated that about seven hundred years ago Dawood Shah came to his land from Yemen to preach Islam. In the guise of beggar, he would move in the area of Shreemontokathi. He made the landlord of Shreemontokathi accept Islam by showing his special miraculous power. For his continuous feeot, almost all the families of his locality become Muslims leaving their age-old religion.
